Block settings allow you to set padding, borders, and background images for specific blocks in your course.
Note: To learn how to style your entire course instead of individual blocks, read more about Working with Course Themes.
Block Settings
Open a course and then select a page. Once you are on the page, click inside of the block you wish to edit.
Click the Settings icon. You will see the settings for that block.
Padding
Padding-Top and Padding-Bottom control the amount of white-space above and below the block content.
Change the number of pixels and you will see the spacing change while you are still in edit mode. You can also preview the page to see how it will appear without editing tools displaying.
Background Fill and Border
You can choose a color to fill in the block background as well as a border color and thickness.
Note: The background, border, and fill color options provided are derived from the theme colors selected for the theme that is applied to the course. Learn more about Working with Course Themes.
Background Image
You can add your own image or a stock image as a background image to your block.
Note: To delete or replace an already placed background image, click on the image to display the Trash can icon and Replace Media icons.
Image Overlay
Once you've added a background image, you can:
- Choose to layer another color over the background image.
- Adjust the Opacity: 100% opacity will cover the image completely with your new background fill color. Reduce the percentage to reveal your background image.
