The first step in attaining widget greatness is choosing a template! Widget templates are the basic structure and functionality of a widget type. Once you select a template, you create a specific “instance” of that widget which you can customize with your own content.
We have taken the liberty of placing our widget selection into handy categories to help make your decision easier. Feel free to filter the widgets by the category listed at the top of the window (Assessment, Presentation, Media), or choose All Widgets to see the full library in all of its glory.
The three types of widgets are:
You can add a widget via the Content Manager or add a new widget directly to a course. To create a new widget in the Content Manager:
- Click on the green (+) and select Widget in the Content Manager.
- Select the widget template that best suits your content. You can click on the Activity, Assessment, and Display tabs to help you sort the various widget categories.
These are the Activity widgets available. As the name implies the widget involves an interactive activity with the learner.
These are the Assessment widgets available. These can be interactive activities or questions, but unlike Activities they provide a score of how the user performed on the Assessments. Assessments can be configured in a variety of ways to allow multiple tries, feedback, and hints.
These are the Display widgets available. They allow static content to be displayed and consumed with different approaches. You can use text, video, images, and audio.
