The following article details how to install the knowbly plugin in Canvas.
Note: To install the knowbly plugin, you must have both admin access to Canvas and an active knowbly account.
Step 1: Access Apps in Canvas
Log into Canvas as an Administrator. Open the admin menu and select the account that you want to add Knowbly to.
Step 2: Access App Configurations
Go to Settings > Apps > View App Configurations. (See graphic below.)
Step 3: Add a New App
Click on the “+ App” button located next to the External Apps header.
Once inside the Add App modal, select “By URL” from the Configuration Type drop-down menu.
Step 4: Configure the App
Enter the following information:
- Name (i.e. Knowbly)
- Consumer Key and Shared Secret (contact firstname.lastname@example.org to get a key and secret for this installation)
- Config URL (enter: https://knowblyuniversalplugin.com/canvas_xml_config.xml)
Step 5: Submit the App
Click Submit at the bottom of the Add App modal.
You should now see a confirmation that the App was installed, and the App will show up in the list of app configurations below.
Step 6: Launch the App
The icon / launch button for the knowbly plugin is now available from any Canvas page or Assignment.
