Video and Audio assets may have poster images associated with them. A poster image is a placeholder image associated directly with an asset and displays as the visible image for that asset (when authoring in knowbly or embedding content in courses or widgets).
- A user may upload or link (https://) to any of the following image asset types: .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, .TIF, .TIFF, .BMP, or .PNG.
Adding Poster Images
Select a video or audio asset and click the info icon in the upper right side of the dashboard.
The metadata for that asset will display on the right. In the top part, you will see an option Click To add Poster.
Once you click to add the poster image, you will be able to add an image via upload, URL, stock images, or the Content Manager.
You can change or delete the poster image by repeating steps 1-2 above and hovering your mouse over the existing image. Two icons will appear allowing you to replace or delete the poster image.
Once the poster image is added, the image will appear in the Content Manager for that asset, and will be used wherever that asset is placed. See examples as follows for a video with poster image.
