You can upload Knowbly™ content to Moodle using several methods.
Link Web Standard Course or Widget
You can embed a Knowbly widget or course directly onto a Moodle page.
- In Knowbly, choose a widget or the course you’d like to publish from the Content Manager. Click the three-dot option menu in the upper right of the widget tile, and choose the Publish arrow.
-
Course or Widget?
- If exporting a course, choose the Web Standard and put that course on a web server with a URL to it (see Web Standard Publishing for help.) This is the URL you will use.
- If publishing a widget, open the publishing window and select the Embed tab at the top. Then select the portion of the embed code containing the URL pointed to by the src tag. For example, if the embed code is the following:
<iframe width="840" height="730" src="https://embed.knowblyapp.com/embed/accordion/5b6c99206060160007af4494" ></iframe>
Copy this portion to the clipboard:
https://embed.knowblyapp.com/embed/accordion/5b6c99206060160007af4494
-
From the Moodle home screen, select the course are using. Make certain that editing is turned on in the settings menu to the right, and then click on + Add an activity or resource for the topic you want to add an embedded widget or course to.
-
In the Add an activity or resource popup, select URL and click Add.
-
The embedded widget or course will now appear under the topic it was added to and may be reviewed there.
Import SCORM
You can import full SCORM courses or SCORM Widgets into Moodle using two methods described below.
First, start by publishing the course or widget out of Knowbly using the version (format) of SCORM desired: 1.2, 2004 (2e), 2004 (3e) or 2004 (4e). Knowbly will send an email to your registered email account with a link to download the SCORM package once it has been built.
Method 1 - Single Activity Format
-
Log in to your Moodle account, go to Site Administration, and select Add a new course, or use the Add a new course button from the Home screen.
-
Under Course Format change the Format to "Single activity format? and the Type of activity to "SCORM package" Complete any other settings such as course name as needed, then Save and Return.
-
From the home screen, select the course you created. In the next screen (Adding a New SCORM Package) go to Package and upload the SCORM package you downloaded in step 1. Change any other attributes in the Adding a New SCORM Package screen and then click on Save and Display.
Method 2 - Topics Format
- Login to your Moodle account, go to Site Administration, and select Add a new course, or select the Add a new course button from the Home screen.
-
Under Course Type change the Format to "Topics format." Complete any other settings such as course name as needed, then Save and Return.
-
From the home screen, select the course you created. In the resulting screen, make certain that editing is turned on in the settings menu to the right, and then click on + Add an activity or resource for the topic you want to add a SCORM Course or a SCORM Widget to.
-
In the "Add an activity or resource popup," select SCORM package and click Add.
-
In the "Adding a new SCORM package to topic x" screen, upload the SCORM course or the SCORM widget you originally exported under Package and fill out any other parameters desired for the SCORM upload. Then click on either Save and return to course or Save and display.
The SCORM Object added will now be available within the topic it was added to.
